Son of Isaac Manse Crocker and Martha White, of Trout River, Bonne Bay, Newfoundland. Husband of Ethel Maud Harris, of Channell, Newfoundland. Father of Shirley Crocker.

On 10 May 1942, at 3:10 am, she was sailing unescorted when she was torpedoed by U-588 35 miles (56 km) south-east of Cape des Sables, Nova Scotia, and sank in twenty minutes, position 42°56'N/63°59'W.
