Son of Michael Joseph Caruso and Maude Marie (alias May) Ruff. Husband of Katherine Bauer.
He served in Manitoba, in Jamaica with Force Y, in Hong Kong with Force C, in Japan as prisoner of war. He had 1,579 days of service, including 809 overseas.
To commemorate his sacrifice, the Government of Manitoba named Caruso Lake, located south-west of York Factory, in his honour in 1964.1939-1945 Star, Pacific Star, War Medal 1939-1945, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp.
