He was born Finn and served as Galbraith.

Son of John Finn and Margaret Buchanan, of Glasgow, Scotland. Husband of Kathleen Finn, of Toronto, Ontario.

On 29 November 1940, Stureholm left Halifax harbour, Nova Scotia, with convoy HX-92, and headed for Hull, England. On 12 December, at 1.56 am, she was torpedoed by U-96 north of Ireland, position 57°50'N/08°40'W. The ship sank in 11 minutes and none of the 32 crew members survived.
