Son of Aaron Robert Forsey and Elizabeth Amelia Snook, of Fortune, Newfoundland. Husband of Phoebe Baker, of Glace Bay, Nova Scotia.

At 1:37pm on 12 November 1940, as convoy OB-217 was breaking up, the Darcoila was torpedoed and sunk by U-32 600 miles (966 km) west of Ireland. The ship sank in five minutes by the stern after a boiler exploded. The captain, 35 crew and one gunner were killed, position 53°27'N/24°55'W.
