From the Cree Nation, George Charles served in Manitoba and Hong Kong with Force C. He had 861 days of service, including 739 overseas.
To commemorate his sacrifice, the Government of Manitoba named Badger Lake, located north of Missinipe, in his honour.

Picture of my Uncle George before he was shipped off to war. This was the only picture that my mother had of him . George was my mother's brother. They both grew up on the Cote First Nation. My mom's name was Elizabeth Tourangeau. -
