Son of Andrew A. and Helen E. Walker, of Kisbey, Saskatchewan. Brother of Flight Sergeant William Archibald Walker who was killed in action on March 17, 1942 while serving with the Royal Canadian Air Force.

The government of Saskatchewan honoured Flying Officer Walker by naming Walker Lake, located northwest of Phelps Lake, in his memory.
