Enlisted in March 1940 as ground crew and after several postings was promoted to Sergeant in October 1941, Promoted to Pilot Officer and joined #429 Bison Squadron, part of 6 RACF Group of Bomber Command. Shot down near Carignon, France.

CARIGNAN COMMUNAL CEMETERY Ardennes, France
The little town of Carignan is 36 kilometres south-east of Mezieres and some 19 kilometres south-east of Sedan, on the main road from Sedan to Montmedy. It is on the Paris-Luxembourg railway line. The CARIGNAN COMMUNAL CEMETERY is on the eastern side of Carignan on the road to Les-Deux-Villes.
