Son of Clifford Grant Nodding and Bertha May Dakin of Beaver Harbour, Charlotte, New Brunswick.

En route from Cardiff, Wales, to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA, on 9 December 1940, at 1:32 am, while sailing with convoy OB-252, the Empire Jaguar was torpedoed by U-103 296 miles (476 km) from Slyne Head Lighthouse, Ireland, position 51°34'N/17°35'W. All 37 crew members perished.
