His full name is Joseph Alphonse Georges Pouliot.

Son of Cyrille Pouliot and Irene Olga Baker from Gros-Pin of Charlesbourg (today Québec), Québec.

A member of convoy SC-48, the Vancouver Island was torpedoed at 22:49 on 15 October 1941 by U-558 and sank quickly at 11:17 pm West of Ireland, position 53°37'N/25°37'W.
