Son of John Albert Stone and Mary Beatrice Webber from Toronto, Ontario.

On 2 December 1942, the Besholt was torpedoed at 11:17 pm by U-174 between Matadi Y Lobito, West Africa, and Trinidad. The ship broke in two and sank in four minutes, in position 03°20'N/30°30'W. The captain, 11 crew members and 2 American passengers lost their lives.
