Son of George William and Angela Glynn from St. John’s, Newfoundland.

The logbook of U-552 indicates that one of the three torpedoes hit the stern of the Nerissa at 0027 hours on 1 May 1941 and sinks south-east of Rockall, position 55°57'N/10°08'W. There were 91 survivors disembarked in Londonderry, Northern Ireland, by HMS Kingcup (K33) of the Royal Navy after being rescued by HMS Veteran (D72).
