Son of David Williams and May Davis. Husband of Hilda Louise Keddy from New Cumberland, Lunenburg, Nova Scotia.

Between 1 h 38 and 1 h 41, on 25 August 1942, U-605 fired five torpedoes at the starboard side of convoy ONS-122 located south-east of Cape Farewell, Greenland. Two ships were hit and sank, including the Sheaf Mount, which broke in two at position 48°55'N/35°10'W. The captain, 26 crew members and 3 gunners lost their lives. The remaining 14 sailors and 7 gunners were rescued by the SS Stockport. Before arriving in Halifax, Nova Scotia, one sailor died on board.
