Burial/memorial information
He served with the 7/11 Hussars – NPAM – from 1938 to 1940 and was integrated in the regular forces of the same regiment. Deployed to the 1st Battalion, Royal Rifles of Canada on 2 September 1940. He served in Québec, in New Brunswick, in Newfoundland with Force W, in Hong Kong with Force C and in Japan as prisoner of war.
His death was recorded on 5 August 1943 and he was buried in the USAF Cemetery No 1 in Yokohama, Japan, Allied Plot, row 10, grave 20. He was exhumed by the 38th Australian War Graves Unit on 26 September 1946 and reburied Yokohama War Cemetery.
