Baltimore bomber FW535 of 13 (RAF) Squadron crashed near Genivolta in Italy killing three of the crew - RAF Squadron Leader Peter David Keith MACGLASHAN Pilot (47787); RAF Flight Sergeant Leslie IRLAM Wireless Operator (1084653) and RCAF Pilot Officer Raymond WILSON Wireless Operator (J/86699). The Navigator, RCAF C/86518 Pilot Officer Hedley de la Brocquerie YOUNG (from USA) was injured and died on the 29th in a hospital at Mantus where he was initially buried before his remains were transferred to the Padua War Cemetery

PADUA WAR CEMETERY Italy
The Padua War Cemetery is in the Commune and Province of Padua, Take the autostrada A13 exiting at Padua South, then head north to Vicenza to the SS11. Alternatively, take the autostrada A4, exiting at Padua West, then head South to the SS11, then west to Vicenza. The SS11 in Padua is the Via Chiesanuova from which, at about 2 kilometres from the town centre, a right turn is made onto the Via della Biscia. Follow this until the cemetery is reached on the right. There are over 500 Second World War war casualties commemorated in this site, including 32 which are unidentified. The Padua War Cemetery is permanently open and may be visited anytime.
