Cst. Schiemann was born in Petrolia, Ontario. Schiemann and three colleagues were Shot and killed on duty near Mayerthorpe, Alberta.
He graduated from Concordia University College with a major is sociology. He played violin and sang in the school choir. Cst. Schiemann had a love for cars - driving them, detailing, cleaning and riding in them. Parkland County Police hired him to look after their fleet of vehicles and then the Stony Plain Detachment hired him to do the same thing. Cst. Schiemann was an avid curler, water skier and scuba diver and was very close to his family.
The Fallen Four Memorial Park was created to have a "living legacy" memorial in Mayerthorpe to honour the four members.
