Son of Lamert and Madeline (née Anderson) Ogilvie of Berwick, Nova Scotia. Husband of Cynthia Marie (née Cameron) Ogilvie of Petawawa, Ontario. Brother of Kevin, Brenda and Karen. He enrolled in the Canadian Forces in April 1989 and was a member of the Royal Canadian Dragoons, serving in Bosnia at the time of his death. He served at the Armour School at CFB Gagetown, New Brunswick, before moving the CFB Petawawa. He was actively involved in the Children's Wish Foundation.
