He was the son of William J. and Lily Stibbards of Vancouver, British Columbia. He was the husband of Kathleen Amelia Maude Stibbards and the father of Marjorie, Gordon, and Kareen, also of Vancouver. He was the brother of Edward; Romney John (Jack); the Reverend Harold Stibbards; Esthel L. Wilson; Mildred Spalton; Eva P. Jamieson; and Marjorie K. Harris (née Stibbards), all of Vancouver.
