Son of Michael Patrick Ó Dioráin (alias Dirrane) and Mary Bridget Johnstone, of Fearann an Choirce, Inis Mór, Oileáin Arainn, Condae na Gaillihme, Ireland.

The cause is not specified, but he died at sea. His name is engraved on the family headstone at St. Mary's Cemetery in Calgary, Alberta.
