The Red Deer Advocate 22 Sept 1943
Sgt. (BA) Opie was on board Wellington aircraft BJ 664 which was on a flight out of #12 Operational Training Unit, Chipping Warden, England.
There was a violent thunderstorm and the aircraft was reported to be on fire before it crashed near Aston on Clun, Shropshire.
