Memorial
This memorial monument, located at the intersection of Main and Mill Streets in the hamlet of Horning's Mills, about 9 kilometres (or 5 to 6 miles) north of Shelburne, Ontario, includes the name of Robert Emerick (though his surname is slightly misspelled). L/Cpl Emerick had been born and raised in Horning's Mills. He was killed in action in Italy while serving as a regimental signaller in the 48th Highlanders of Canada, an infantry regiment.
