Baptized Paul Rosario Hamelin. Son of Zotique Hamelin and Imelda Duclos, from St-Georges-de-Windsor, Richmond, Québec.
Enlisted with the Voltigeurs de Québec on July 21, 1943, he sailed for Great Britain, where he arrived on the 28th. Assigned to Force M on February 17, 1944, he sailed for the Mediterranean on the 18th. On the 19th, he was transferred to the Royal 22nd Regiment. He landed in Italy on March 3. On June 26, 1944, he was assigned to the 4th Battalion. He was killed in action on October 19, 1944, during the Battle of Cesena and the Savio River. He had served for 1,222 days, including 456 days overseas.
