Rifleman Farrell enlisted in The Queen's Own Rifles in 1940 and served with the Regiment in Newfoundland, New Brunswick and in England. Rifleman Farrell was in the mortar platoon of Support Company when he was killed in Normandy (east of Caen) by fire from enemy aircraft. -
