Additional information

Son of Herbé Lacombe and Aimée (aka Emma) Boudreau, of Alexandria, Ontario.  Brother of Aldége of Kingston, Ontario, Albert of Cornwall, Ontario, Raymond of Alexandria, Ontario and Cecile and Pauline Lacombe of Alexandria, Ontario.

Enlisted in the Régiment de Maisonneuve, he sailed for Great Britain on August 24, 1940, and landed in Greenock, Scotland, on September 5. From May 18 to June 3, 1942, he trained with the 8th Wolfe Battalion. After several incidents of misconduct, he was transferred to the 4th Battalion of the Royal 22nd Regiment on May 12, 1943. Assigned to Force M, he sailed for the Mediterranean on June 27 and landed in Sicily on July 13. On September 10, he set foot on the Italian mainland at Reggio di Calabria. From October 1, 1943, to January 22, 1944, he was treated for malaria. Upon returning to his unit on February 21, 1944, he was on patrol with an officer and two other soldiers. He was killed in action while the others were taken prisoner in the Ortona salient. His body was never recovered.
