Son of Charles Philippe Major (his father signed Mauger instead of Major) and Mary Elizabeth Ross, of Hopetown, Québec.
He served in Québec, in newfoundland with Force W, in Hong Kong with Force C. He had 250 days of service, including 59 overseas.
His brother, Private L. Major, service number E-36029, served overseas during the Second World War with the Canadian Forestry Corps and survived the war.

Rifleman WILSON MAJOR is one of 12 members of the Royal Rifles of Canada, Royal Canadian Infantry Corps who are commemorated on this panel of the Sai Wan Memorial. He was one of 290 Canadian soldiers killed during the defense of Hong Kong, from December 8th to December 25th, 1941. -
