Brother of Sergeant Clifford Samuel Pollock, who died while serving with the Carleton and York Regiment, and Lawson L. Pollock, who served with the Royal Canadian Air Force and survived the war.

Frederick served in New Brunswick, Newfoundland with Force W, Quebec, and Hong Kong with Force C. He had 434 days of service, including 59 overseas.
