Son of Albert Joseph Casson, and Margarita S. Casson, of Seaforth, Ontario.

Albert served overseas in the First World War with the 11th Brigade Machine Gun Company, service number 127437 and fought in France.

Served in Canada, Great Britain, Nassau in the Bahamas, India, Burma, Ceylon and Bengal.

His Liberator EV-945 bomber was shot down on May 15, 1945 and he was taken prisoner of war by the Japanese. He died in captivity. He had 1,046 days of service, including 593 days overseas.
