HELLELAND CHURCHYARD Norway

Helleland is 11 kilometres north-east of the port of Egersund in the south-west. Near the eastern side of the church in HELLELAND CHURCHYARD are the graves of 7 airmen who crashed during an attempted raid on the Vermork power station at Rjukan in November 1942. The other casualties of this air attack are buried in Stavanger (Egenes) Churchyard.
