(P/O Carlisle on Right)
Halifax aircraft NA 660 of 298 (RAF) Sqdn. took off at 22.35 on 2nd April 1945 from RAF Tarrant Rushton on a SOE mission "Stirrup 14" to Norway. It was shot up over Lista, caught fire and crashed at Kalleberg near Farsund. The crew were all killed and are buried at Vanse Churchyard.
The crew, with the exception of P/O Carlisle, were members of the RAF.

VANSE CHURCHYARD Norway
Vanse is 8 kilometres west of Farsund, on the western tip of the south coast and contains the Commonwealth War Graves of nine airmen, six of whom belonged to the crew of a Halifax of 298 Squadron which crashed on 3 April 1945.
