When it was lost, Lancaster ED588 of #50 (RAF) Sqn had completed 128 operations and had a total of 1152 hours. The last raid was to Konigsbergh on 29/30 Aug 44. The aircraft crashed at Vittsjo, Sweden, and the bomb load exploded. F/S MacDonald was Bomb Aimer and the only Canadian on board.<P>
ED588 was one of four 50 Squadron Lancasters lost on this operation.
