Son of Donat Binette and Yvronne Leroux from Vaudreuil, Québec. Husband of Thérèse Lafranchise. Father of Marie Paule, Monique and Marcille Binette.
Enlisted on 8 December 1941 with the Fusilier Mont-Royal in Montréal, Québec, at his request he was transferred to the Régiment de la Chaudière on 11 June 1942 before moving to the Royal 22e Régiment on 5 May 1943. He landed in Sicily, Italy, on 10 July and was killed in action during an assault on Mount Santa Maria in Agira.
