Additional information
Son of Pierre Blais and Florida Cronier from Port-Daniel, Bonaventure, Québec. Husband of Fernande Cronier from Causapscal Station, Matapédia, Québec. Father of Odette, Jean-Claude and Pierre-Yvon Blais.

Arriving in Italy with Les Voltigeurs de Québec in October 1943, he was transferred to the Royal 22e Régiment on 23 December 1943. On the 24th, he was in the front line in the Torre Mucchio sector. He was killed in action on 11 January 1944 west of Ortona by a bomb dropped from an aircraft. He was buried near the chapel in Ortona, then exhumed on 9 August 1944 and reburied in the Moro River cemetery, near Ortona.
