Lance Corporal Adrien Braconnier

Son of Alexandre Braconnier and Albina Therrien of Montréal, Québec. Brother of Sergeant Théophile Braconnier, regimental number E-5478, Royal 22e Régiment, wounded in action in Italy, and Private Léo Braconnier. They survived the war.

He took part in the landings in Sicily on 10 July 1943 and in Italy on 3 September. He was killed in action on 15 December 1943 during an assault to seize the crossroads north-east of Casa Berardi. He was first buried at Casa Berardi, province of Chieti, on the 20th before being exhumed and reburied at the Moro River Cemetery in Ortona, Italy.
