Trained with the militia from 1936 to 1939. Was called to active service with the Royal Canadian Regiment in 1939 and was the Officer Commanding C. Company during the Italian campaign. He was mentioned in Despatches on July 31, 1943, for "gallant action leading his men". He was killed in action on April 21, 1944. -
