He was born as Frank "Anthony" Caruso.

Son of Michael Joseph Caruso and Maude Marie (alias May) Ruff. Husband of Katherine Bauer.

He served in Manitoba, in Jamaica with Force Y, in Hong Kong with Force C, in Japan as prisoner of war. He had 1,579 days of service, including 809 overseas.

To commemorate his sacrifice, the Government of Manitoba named Caruso Lake, located south-west of York Factory, in his honour in 1964.

YOKOHAMA WAR CEMETERY Japan

YOKOHAMA WAR CEMETERY is 9 kilometres west of the city on Yuenchi-Dori, Hodogaya Ward, which branches left off the old Tokkaido highway. The nearest railway station is Hodogaya, 5 kilometres to the north on the JNR line but the cemetery is easily reached by bus from Yokohama station.
