Additional information
Son of Bernie Albert Gibbons and Sarah Irene Quinn, of Woodford, Ontario. Brother of Gunner Arthur Eldon Gibbons, who served in Europe during the Second World War and survived the conflict.

Enrolled in the Elgin Regiment in London, Ontario, transferred June 4th, 1941 to the 1st Battalion, Royal Rifles of Canada, served in Ontario, Québec, Hong Kong with C Force, Japan as a prisoner of war. He had 1,289 days of service, including 797 overseas.

YOKOHAMA WAR CEMETERY Japan

YOKOHAMA WAR CEMETERY is 9 kilometres west of the city on Yuenchi-Dori, Hodogaya Ward, which branches left off the old Tokkaido highway. The nearest railway station is Hodogaya, 5 kilometres to the north on the JNR line but the cemetery is easily reached by bus from Yokohama station.
