Additional information
Son of William Francis Gover and Mary Ann Victoria Neale. His brother, Private Gordon Victor Gover, regimental number B-67215, Royal Regiment of Canada, was taken prisoner at Dieppe, France, on August 19th, 1942. He survived the war.

Enlisted in the Royal Hamilton Light Infantry, he served in Ontario, transferring on October 18th, 1941 to the 1st Battalion, Royal Rifles of Canada to fight in Hong Kong with C Force. He had 929 days of service, including 804 overseas.
