Baptized Joseph Valmore Flavius Hervé Lapointe, on 25 October 1905, at the St-François-Xavier church in Rivière-du-Loup, Québec. Son of Wilfrid (alias Willy) Audet-dit-Lapointe and Marie Louise Bélanger, of Rivière-du-Loup, Québec. At his wedding, the groom (father of Valmore) signed Joseph Wilfrid Lapointe, but he was baptized Joseph Félanis Lapointe.

Transferred from the Bowen Road hospital in Sham Shui Po, Hong Kong, to the British military hospital in Hong Kong, he died during his transport on 28 October 1942.
