His death was recorded on 3 October 1942, by Dr Stanley Martin Banfill, service number X-03, Captain with the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps, himself also a prisoner of war. He was buried in Argyle Street Cemetery, grave L.14, and exhumed on 16 June 1946 to be reburied in the Sai Wan War Cemetery.
