Son of John Richard Mann and Florence Winifred Marshall. Husband of Rena Jane (alias Jean) Roussie (alias Roussey), of Matapedia, Québec. Father of Ray Lindsay, Kaltha R., Leah E., Isabel C., Glenda D., Bertram E., and Theodora F. Mann, all of Runnymede, Bonaventure, Québec.

Lindsay served in Québec, in Newfoundland with Force W and in Hong Kong with Force W.

His brother, Cecil Marcilius Mann, service number E-30449, Royal Rifles of Canada, was prisoner of war in Hong Kong and in Japan, and he survived the war.
