Additional information
Son of Thomas Medhurst and Sibella (alias Isabella) Brown, of Cobourg, Ontario. His father served in France as a gunner, service number 412397, during the First World War and was demobilized in 1919 with the rank of Lieutenant.

George enlisted with the 14th Field Battery, Royal Canadian Artillery – NPAM – service number C-406047, from 15 August 1940 to 22 September 1940 and was deployed on the 23rd, to the Midland Regiment, service number C-65164.

He served in Ontario, in New Brunswick, in Québec, and in Hong Kong with Force C.
