Son of Henry Alfred Paul and Elizabeth Emma Francis of Winnipeg, Manitoba. Husband of Evelyn Louise Kohnen of New Westminster, British Columbia. Father of Glen Arthur Paul.
Brother of Sergeant Arthur William Paul of the Canadian Army, who fought in Europe and survived the war.
Served in Manitoba and Hong Kong with "C" Force. He had 1,419 days of service, including 907 overseas.
To commemorate his sacrifice, the Manitoba government named Paul Bay located on Lake Nueltin in his honor in 1995.
