Son of Peter Pearson and Lillian Watkins, of Austin, Manitoba.

Served with the 2nd Battalion Winnipeg Grenadiers - NPAM - Regimental Number H-530106, from October 9th to November 7th, 1940 in Brandon, Manitoba, enlisting with the 1st Battalion, Regimental Number H-6958, to fight in Hong Kong with C Force. He had 361 days of service, including 350 overseas.

To commemorate his sacrifice, the Manitoba government named Pearson Island located on Gauer Lake in his honor in 1989.
