On the 4th of September 1942 aircraft crashed just after take off from Thornaby and caught fire at Myton House Farm, Ingleby Barwick at 22.30 hrs. The four crew were killed. Two Canadians were also killed. They are:
Obs - F/Sgt Howard B Shaver
W Op / AG - F/Sgt John A Montgomery
