His full name is John Howard Blake.

On October 28, 1941, at 7:19 a.m., the King Malcolm was sailing with convoy SC-50 630 miles (1,046 km) west of Ireland when she was torpedoed by U-106. She sank in less than three minutes, position 51°09'N/27°15'W. Its captain, 33 crew members and four gunners lost their lives. There were no survivors. This freigher was reported missing on October 31, 1941.
