Son of Edmund James MacDonald and Matilda Mary McDonald of Richmond Station, Prince Edward Island.
His brother, Gabriel, was called up for American service on 16 February 1942, conscript muster card number 10503, service number 3006. He did not take part in the fighting.
This collier disappeared without a trace on 23 November 1941 in the Bermuda triangle.
