His full name is Joseph N. MacIsaac.

Son of John Walter MacIsaac of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.

In early December 1940, she left Halifax harbour, Nova Scotia, with convoy HX-97. On 29 December, she lay astern and on 31 December, at 9:12 pm, she was torpedoed by U-38 south of Iceland and sank by the stern, position 60°01'N/23°00'W. The captain, 32 crew members and two passengers lost their lives.
