Son of Pacifique Paul Mandy Maillet (aka Myers) and Marie Madeleine Gallant of Rustico, Prince Edward Island. Husband of Mary Elizabeth Florence Earle Gerroir of New Glasgow, Nova Scotia. Father of six children, including John Henry, Charles Michael, Selina, Vernon, Gloria, and Fredrick Earle.
A member of convoy SC-48, the Vancouver Island was torpedoed at 22:49 on 15 October 1941 by U-558 and sank quickly at 11:17 pm West of Ireland, position 53°37'N/25°37'W.
