Additional information

Son of John Samuel Tibbo and Sarah Matilda Skinner from Harbour Breton, Newfoundland. Nephew of Private Henry Thomas Tibbo, regimental number 1720, Royal Newfoundland Regiment, who was killed in action in France on 12 October 1916.

At 0:15 am on 29 October 1942, the Bic Island was torpedoed and sunk by U-224 southwest of Rockall, an isolated rock between Ireland and Iceland, position 55°05'N/23°27'W.
