Burial/memorial information
Brother of Private Robert Earl Marsh, who fought in Europe, and Royal Canadian Air Force aviatrix Mildred Marsh. They survived the war.
He enlisted with the Royal Winnipeg Rifles, served in Manitoba and was transferred to the 1st Battalion, Winnipeg Grenadiers on October 22nd, 1941 to fight in Hong Kong with "C" Force. He had 1,024 days of service, including 839 overseas.
To commemorate his sacrifice, the Manitoba government named Marsh Rapids located on the Rasp River in his honor in 1996.
