Pilot Officer Kemp Wetherall Richardson
Richardson, Kemp Wetherall - Pilot Officer. Born 18th November, 1918, at Calgary, Alta. Educated at Elbow Park and Rideau Schools, and Western Canada High School, Calgary. Entered the service of the Bank 26th November, 1936. Served at Calgary city branches and Ponoka, Alta. Enlisted 12th June 1941, from Ponoka in R.C.A.F. Pilot Officer in January, 1942. Trained at Penhold, Edmonton and High River, Alta., Dauphin, Man., and Trenton, Ont. Appointed Flying Instructor at Yorkton, Sask., in January, 1942. Killed 3rd August, 1942, when the training plane he was flying crashed near Yorkton. Pilot Officer Richardson won the Calgary amateur golf championship in 1939
and 1941, and kept wicket for the South Calgary Cricket Club. He also won the Southern Alberta amateur golf championship in 1942. <br><i>From a memorial booklet prepared by the Canadian Bank of Commerce.</i>
